1. Controller and scope

This website and the Editly for Elementor plugin are operated by Editly WP. Editly WP is the controller for website enquiries, product support, and the first-party website data described below. Freemius handles checkout, billing, licensing infrastructure, and related records under its own terms and privacy documentation.

2. Website data we process

No account, no login

This website does not require user account creation or login. We do not process password data or persistent user profile sessions for standard browsing.

Contact and support communications

If you contact us by email or through the Editly contact form, we process the information you submit: your name, email address, request category, message, current page, and any optional purchase or technical details you choose to provide. We use it only to answer the request, diagnose the issue, and maintain the related support history. The contact form sends the message to our configured support mailbox and does not store its contents in the WordPress database. Short-lived, pseudonymous rate-limit counters are used to prevent abuse. Sending a request does not require analytics or personalization consent.

Technical logs and audience measurement

Basic server logs may contain an IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and error or security information. They are processed for operation, reliability, abuse prevention, and security. If Google Analytics 4 is enabled, its tag is loaded only after you consent to audience measurement. No Google Analytics request is sent before that choice, and advertising signals remain disabled.

Google Search Console may be used to understand how the site appears in Google Search. The ownership-verification tag and Search Console reporting do not place an audience cookie on this website.

3. Cookies and local storage

Optional storage is disabled until you make a choice. “Accept all” and “Reject all” are available at the same level, and you can reopen Cookie settings in the footer at any time.

  • Necessary — editly_consent: stores your consent categories for up to 180 days so the site does not ask on every visit.
  • Personalization — editly_visit_session and editly:first-seen: distinguish a later visit, only after personalization consent. The first-visit value is retained for up to 180 days. Local engagement values expire with the browser session and a dismissal is retained for up to 7 days.
  • Audience measurement — _ga and _ga_*: may be set by Google Analytics only after analytics consent, generally for up to 2 years.

If you refuse or withdraw an optional category, the related Editly storage is removed and future use stops. Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site are also deleted when analytics consent is withdrawn. Browser settings can additionally remove stored data.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral advertising. We also recognize the browser’s Global Privacy Control signal and keep optional analytics disabled unless you subsequently make an explicit choice.

4. Plugin operation and Freemius

Content stays in WordPress

Editly reads and writes supported Elementor content inside your WordPress installation. Editly does not send the text you edit, your Elementor page content, or the local Editly change history to an Editly editing cloud.

Purchase, activation, and updates

Plugin purchases are processed through Freemius, which acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction and provides licensing and private-update infrastructure. A paid purchase requires purchaser and billing information. Activating a paid license can send the license key, website URL, product state and version, WordPress and PHP versions, site language, and other technical information needed to manage activations and updates. Optional plugin-and-theme inventory is controlled by the Freemius permission interface.

Freemius may set its own checkout, licensing, security, and anti-fraud cookies when you open its checkout or customer services. See the Freemius cookie policy.

5. Purposes and legal bases

  • Website delivery and security: our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service.
  • Support and pre-sale enquiries: steps requested before a contract, performance of the product-support relationship, and our legitimate interest in keeping an accurate support history.
  • Purchase, licensing, and updates: performance of the paid-product contract and compliance with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and other legal obligations.
  • Personalization and audience measurement: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

6. Recipients, international transfers, and retention

Relevant recipients can include our hosting provider, Freemius for checkout and licensing, and Google LLC for consented analytics. Typography and icon assets may be delivered by Google Fonts and the cdnjs service operated by Cloudflare; those providers receive the network information needed to return the requested files. Some providers can process data outside your country under their published transfer safeguards.

Consent choices are retained for up to 180 days. Personalization values follow the periods listed above. Analytics cookies may last for up to two years, subject to your choice and the configured Google Analytics retention settings. Support records, security logs, licensing records, and transaction records are retained only for the period justified by support, security, contractual, accounting, tax, dispute, or other applicable legal requirements.

7. Your rights

Where applicable under data protection law, you may request:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of personal data when legally permitted
  • Restriction, objection, or portability where the law provides it
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing

To make a request, contact contact@editlywp.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority. In France, this is the CNIL.

8. United States privacy

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Subject to the law that applies to you, US residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, to opt out of covered sale or sharing, and to receive equal service when exercising those rights. We honor applicable Global Privacy Control signals. Contact us to submit a request.

We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version.
