1. Parties and roles
Freemius acts as Merchant of Record for purchases made through its checkout and handles:
- License sales and checkout flows
- Payment collection via Stripe and PayPal
- VAT handling, reverse-charge validation, and tax remittance
- Invoice issuance, chargeback processing, and refund execution
Editly WP ("Publisher", "Editly", "we", "us") develops and licenses the plugin, defines its functionality, ships updates, and provides product support. Freemius does not replace Editly as the publisher and is not responsible for the product’s functionality or these product terms.
Customer ("you") means any person or legal entity purchasing a license.
2. Contract documents and acceptance
Your order, payment, tax treatment, invoice, subscription management, and buyer account are also subject to the terms shown by Freemius at checkout. Use of Editly is governed by these Product Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the GPLv2-or-later software license included with the plugin. Mandatory consumer rights prevail where they apply.
3. Plans and paid-service scope

- Only annual subscriptions are offered; there is no monthly, lifetime, or trial option unless the live checkout expressly states otherwise.
- Each plan’s activation allowance applies to access to paid functionality, private updates, and support. An Agency license may be activated on up to 10 websites; Solo on one; Unlimited has no numerical website limit under normal use.
- If a license becomes inactive, existing Elementor content and current Editly drafts are preserved. New content and White Label changes cannot be saved through Editly until the site license is reactivated.
4. Open-source code and paid services
Editly’s PHP and related plugin code are licensed under GPLv2 or later, as stated in the plugin package. You may use, study, modify, and redistribute GPL-covered code under that license. A purchase does not transfer the Editly trademarks, branding, website content, customer account, support service, private-update access, or license keys.
Do not publish, sell, or share a private license key. Commercial plan limits govern Freemius activations, automatic updates, support, and functionality that requires a valid local paid-license state; they do not replace the GPL terms that apply to the code itself.
5. Payment, VAT, and invoicing
- Billing, anti-fraud controls, and checkout are managed by Freemius.
- The English and Brazilian editions display USD. The French, German, Spanish, Italian, and European Portuguese editions display EUR. Applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated at checkout.
- EU B2C: local VAT may apply. EU B2B with valid VAT ID: reverse charge may apply.
- Freemius remits VAT under the EU OSS framework where relevant.
- Invoices are issued through Freemius and include the applicable tax details.
6. Renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless canceled before the next billing date.
- While the subscription remains active, annual renewals receive the 10% renewal discount configured in Freemius.
- You can cancel renewal from the Freemius Customer Portal. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not normally end the already-paid term early.
- After expiry, existing Elementor content and current Editly drafts remain intact. New Editly saves requiring a paid license remain unavailable until reactivation.
7. 14-day satisfaction guarantee
Within 14 days of purchase, contact contact@editlywp.com with your order details.
- We first attempt a reasonable technical resolution.
- Under the moderate Freemius refund policy, an eligible full refund may be processed when a missing feature, defect, or third-party incompatibility cannot be resolved with your cooperation.
- Eligibility follows the moderate refund policy configured for Editly in Freemius. Refund requests made outside the stated period or involving abuse may be declined, subject to mandatory law.
For eligible EU digital purchases, Freemius displays the required cooling-off information or waiver directly in checkout.
8. Updates and roadmap
- Active subscriptions receive available updates; compatibility work is prioritized according to impact, testing requirements, and platform changes.
- Security fixes are prioritized and released as quickly as practical.
- Feature suggestions may be implemented at our discretion; submitting ideas grants us a royalty-free right to use them.
9. Support
Response times vary with request complexity and support volume. No guaranteed service-level agreement applies unless agreed separately in writing.

When diagnosis requires site access, we may ask for a temporary account with your explicit consent. You can revoke that access at any time.
10. Responsible use
You are responsible for backups, staging and compatibility checks appropriate to your site, the accounts and permissions you grant, and the content saved through Editly. You must not use the product or Freemius services unlawfully, interfere with licensing or update infrastructure, misuse support, distribute malware, or disclose another person’s data without authority. Nothing in this section restricts rights granted by the GPL.
11. Intellectual property
The Editly name, logos, website, documentation, screenshots, and other non-code brand materials remain the property of their respective owners. Plugin code remains subject to its GPLv2-or-later license and third-party components remain subject to their own notices.
12. Availability, warranties, and liability
Software compatibility depends on WordPress, Elementor, PHP, browsers, themes, and third-party widgets that can change independently. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Editly is supplied without implied warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded, and our aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid for the current subscription period. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend access to paid services or a license key in cases of fraud, public key sharing, security risk, chargeback, or material breach, subject to applicable law. Expiry or suspension does not delete existing Elementor content or current Editly drafts.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Any jurisdiction clause applies only where legally valid. Contact us first so we can attempt an amicable resolution.
